IN THE KNOW
American cars could get tax benefits, but there's an issue
Interest rates are through the roof. They have made new cars unbuyable.
At the same time, talks of tariffs have heated up (and cooled down). So, there's plenty of concern over how much cars will cost.
Now, the Government wants to make interest payments on loans for vehicles tax deductible, but only for those made in America. It sounds great, but there's an issue: it might be impossible.
Here's why.
Honda's second best-selling vehicle could move to the US
The Honda Civic is one of the company's best cars, earning praise for its reliability and fun driving experience.
It's so popular that Honda sold 240,000 of them in the US in 2024.
All of them came from Mexico. Now, things could change.
The ongoing tariff threat could have priced out the Honda Civic from the competition.
So, Honda is preparing to make a big move. However, despite rumors, it's still not set in stone.
Mitsubishi is ready to break up with Nissan
The Mitsubishi Outlander is a good SUV that has faced a tough challenge. The SUV was touted as the one to improve the brand's presence in the US.
Fans and media received the latest refresh with positive notes, but the challenge of more sales is still present.
So, Mitsubishi is gambling its future on creating a new Outlander. After all, the current model is more Nissan than anything else.
That’s only one of the moves the Japanese company wants to make.
