IN THE KNOW

How to beat rising insurance costs

Have you felt your insurance is too expensive lately? You're not alone.

Here's a motivating (sarcasm) stat: insurance has increased by 19.5% since last June, and we wonder whether insurance will ever stop rising. Chances are it won't. As cars become more expensive, insurance rates are likely to keep increasing.

Other factors affect insurance. Location is key, and if you want to know more about how where you live affects how much you'll pay for insurance, check out this link

Other factors include how many people have accidents in said states and the type of vehicle you drive.

As you can see, many factors lie outside our control. For example, it's not up to us when a state has many accidents. Nor can you control when there are hail storms (though these are vital in insurance costs). However, there are some things you can do. These include becoming a better driver (as logical as it sounds, but one accident increases rates by 43% on average) and taking courses.

This article by the New York Times covers some strategies to reduce your insurance rate.

Moreover, check out our article here if you want to know the most expensive cars to insure and why.

Which automaker has the best website?

Here's a ranking I bet you didn't think of when considering a new car: which automaker has the best website?

Once you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

Whether we're looking for our next car or mindlessly navigating the web, daydreaming about a vehicle we won't buy, websites are essential.

You should be able to buy a car with relative ease. At least, you should get all the information you need in a matter of minutes.

The problem is that, between market competition, brand imaging, and commercial restrictions, some websites tend to be overly complex.

Not every automaker is the same. We've all navigated at least one website where we end up lost. So, which one is the best?

Fortunately, someone has done the job for us. JD Power has a ranking of the best and worst automakers' websites in this link, and we'd love to know if you agree with number one.

BEST AND WORST

Which are the BMW X6 years to avoid and why?

I'll be the first to say it: the BMW X6 is controversial. Some people love it, and some, well, let's just have Jeremy Clarkson express his feelings about the topic.

Regardless of what the divisive automotive journalist says, the BMW X6 is popular, ranking 4th in such a category. This SUV is sporty, powerful, and comes loaded with gadgets.

So, is it worth buying? Consumers love it, and it has consistently ranked high on sites like Kelley Blue Book for many years

However, some years are quite troublesome. Buying a used BMW can be a gamble, and the X6 is no exception. So, here are the BMW X6 to avoid and why.

TIPS AND KNOW-HOW

Here's what you need to know about the Toyota hybrid battery replacement cost

Toyota has been at the forefront of hybrid vehicles for quite some time. Many of the vehicles in its fleet now have a hybrid option, or it's the only one available.

Hybrids provide better fuel economy in traffic jams, and they've become increasingly popular. They're an excellent choice for those who want a greener version without migrating to an electric vehicle.

However, one catch with Toyota and any other hybrid is the cost of replacing the battery pack. In our article, we dive deep into how much it costs to replace one and in which cases it's worth it.
